Why we exist
In November 2024, Anthropic released the Model Context Protocol. Within 16 months, more than 17,000 MCP servers were deployed across the enterprise. Agents gained the ability to act, but the infrastructure to verify those actions (who authorized them, through which provider, with what evidence) did not arrive with them. Regulators noticed first: the EU AI Act’s high-risk obligations take effect August 2, 2026, and Article 12 mandates automatic logging of every agent decision. Courts noticed second: the first class actions for agentic harm are already certified. Insurers noticed third: cyber coverage is being repriced around governance controls. We founded Notary to be the neutral, durable, evidence-grade substrate all three can rely on.
The team
We came from the places where this problem was felt first: agent infrastructure teams shipping production workflows, security engineers responding to the early agentic breaches, and compliance counsel preparing for the August 2026 deadline. We are small, focused, and uninterested in building the twenty-sixth dashboard a CISO ignores.
Mission

Vision
In ten years, an un-notarized agent action will be as unthinkable as an unsigned legal document. Every AI action, across every provider, every framework, every multi-agent handoff, will flow through an impartial notarial layer that enterprises, regulators, courts, and insurers can all rely on. The agentic economy will be built on Notary the way the modern internet was built on TLS: invisible, ubiquitous, and the thing that makes trust at machine speed possible.
